Safe Exam Browser

Safe Exam Browser is a web browser designed for safely taking exams online or in person. In addition to the modules for configuring all the exam settings, Safe Exam Browser consists of two main components: kiosk and browser.

You cannot open other apps at the same time

The kiosk locks the Mac to prevent other apps from being viewed at the same time. The only thing you will see on the screen is the browser, so you won't be able to cheat with the computer you're using.

To achieve this, Safe Exam Browser disables functions such as force quit, right-clicking the mouse, the start menu, switching to other apps with Alt+Tab, Sleep Mode, the Print Screen button, the use of a second monitor, or running the program in a virtual machine. However, additional modules can be run within Safe Exam Browser's safe environment, some of which are required for the exams.

The browser that won't let you leave it

The second part is the browser, which is responsible for loading the exam part using a predetermined URL. No additional navigation elements, such as address bar, search bar or bookmarks, are displayed. The engine used by the browser is Mozilla Gecko.
